This tool is compatible with UE5 and World Partition

Step By Step instructions of how to integrate the heightmaps into your level:

(Unreal Engine 4) Install the FREE plugins: "ILIAD" " Export PNG"

  1. In the Content Browser, select the PNG heightmap you want to use as terrain in your project.
  2. Right-click the selected texture heightmap and choose Asset Actions - Export.
  3. Save the heightmap to your hard drive.
  4. Open the map into which you want to import the heightmap and select Landscape Mode.
  5. Select the "Import from file" option and select the previously exported file.
  6. In order to maintain the exact proportions of the real landscape, in the name of each heightmap you can find the X, Y and Z scales for this heightmap. The X and Y scale is 991 and the Z scale is 197. So enter the correct XYZ scale and then click Import to import the heightmap into your level.

You want to represent the heightmap, the highest peak at 1000m, in the Unreal level:

  1. Start by multiplying 1000 by 100 to convert your height to centimeters. This is equal to 100,000 cm.
  2. Then multiply this new value by our factor: 100000 times 0.001953125 equals 195.3125.
  3. This gives us a Z value of 195.3125, which roughly changes from -195.3125 cm to 195.3125 cm.

To get heightmap width which is 10000m in Unreal level:

  1. Start by multiplying 10,000 by 100 to convert your height to centimeters. This is equal to 1000000 cm.
  2. Then divide this new value by the resolution of the 2017 map: 1,000,000 divided by 2017 is 495,78.
  3. This gives us an XY scale value of 991.57 and the result is a height map that will measure XY 495,78, Z 195.3125.

XY scale (1000 * (A) / 2017)

Z scale (10000 * (A) * 0.001953125)

substitute the value for (A) to get the correct scale
